Jon Mcnaught

Image
Jon Mcnaught Jon Mcnaught uses a basic range of colors in his work, here you can see in the three images he likes to use blue and merge it with purple. This leaves the artwork simple colored but still makes it stand out. The art work is very simple with boxes almost showing a story. I personally like this style because Jon only uses a few colours while still managing to make everything be defined and stand out. This also works pretty well in my opinion because purple and blue are analogous on the color wheel so they don't contrast each other as Jon's artwork looks more relaxing with these colours and illustrations This could help me with story boarding as his artwork is generally layed out in squares or rectangles which lead off each other to show an event. Jon also shows that you don't need to put extreme detail in and with minimal colour it could really make my storyboard stand out In this artwork he wrote a story using squares, here

Induction project year 2

Image
For our year 2 induction project we had to make our own spin on the app "Elf yourself". Our group decided to do a Halloween themed task where we photo shopped our faces to look like zombies. Shot 1 - Our first shot was too make a main menu like in the app, after making a background on photoshop we exported it to after effects where using the rectangle tool I made three options which when scrolled over with the mouse cursor that I tracked had stars appear, then when clicked the shot transitions with a star mask into shot 2. Shot 2 - Our second shot was to do a dance together with our group, my group decided to use the thriller with a haunted house background. Here we exported our photoshop zombie faces and used the tracker tool in after effects to point out detailed features on the original faces. We then tracked a png of our faces zombiefied using the track made by after effects. Some of the faces wouldn't track perfectly so I moved it on the timeline by using ke

Storyboard: Counter strike

Image
This week our task was to create a story board of a scene of our choice, I decided to use the counter-strike : global offensive trailer. I did 20 shots and commented on what type shot it was and if anything happened with the camera mid scene, pan for example. My two favorite shots were  the 19th with the extreme close up and the 3rd shot which is over the shoulder. Here the counter-terrorist is defusing the bomb which is a very intense scene, they used an extreme close up here to show the face details, especially the eyes as they dart over the place to check for the  terrorist and defuse the bomb at the same time. Here was a scene where one of the terrorists was killed and is lying dropping the bomb, and the camera is over the shoulder of the other terrorists, here you could see a black doorway which gives tension for the terrorists to see what would be around the corner. In conclusion I think that this project went pretty well
