Induction project year 2

For our year 2 induction project we had to make our own spin on the app "Elf yourself". Our group decided to do a Halloween themed task where we photo shopped our faces to look like zombies.
Shot 1 - Our first shot was too make a main menu like in the app, after making a background on photoshop we exported it to after effects where using the rectangle tool I made three options which when scrolled over with the mouse cursor that I tracked had stars appear, then when clicked the shot transitions with a star mask into shot 2.



Shot 2 - Our second shot was to do a dance together with our group, my group decided to use the thriller with a haunted house background. Here we exported our photoshop zombie faces and used the tracker tool in after effects to point out detailed features on the original faces. We then tracked a png of our faces zombiefied using the track made by after effects. Some of the faces wouldn't track perfectly so I moved it on the timeline by using keyframes.


Shot 3 - For the third shot we had to do an activity so I decided to do all the work and Emma helped too. Here I was given the clip of us running past where we could only track one face, here we had to do the original track which I also edited with keyframes too. Then I duplicated the raw video footage (which i also had to green screen) then I had to track a different face. In total I tracked all three faces. Finally I edited in gravestones for us to run behind to give a tiny bit of depth to the scene as the drawing looked way too out of place


Shot 4 - For the final shot we had to come up with a message at the end so using chroma keying I greenscreened a witch flying past a background with the message "Happy Halloween" displayed.


Audio and final product - Here is the final product, I decided to use the monster mash as music and synced it so when it transitioned from the main menu the actual song starts playing.

Next time the group could be more planned out so each person does their own parts and they could be easily complied together as this time it was very tedious and wasted time fixing errors. Next time I would add more green screen and polish up on what I already made.

Our task this week was to do a story analysis on a movie of our choice. I decided to choose Baby Driver. Firstly we had to talk about the main character and give a brief detail about them and what happens to them in the story. Here I gave a summary of the story and how Baby changes throughout the story. Next we has to talk about the setting so I gave a short description on the modern day Atlanta and talked about how Baby spent his time there. For the second part we has to write about the different stages of the story and how the character develops from each stage. I also gave a description on what happens in the story at that point so you get a little bit of context about what made Baby feel the way he does and then in the next scene how hes changed. End summary: Overall I am pretty happy with my story analysis, I used some storyboard keywords like hook and also I am getting better at Photoshop. Maya coke bottle

This week I made a bottle in Maya starting off with a single cylinder where I gave 5 axis divisions making it more of a pentagon shape. Next I inserted a coke image plane to model off. Next I selected all of the bottom 5 faces and extruded them, then from here I could turn off the feature that keeps the faces together and then increase the offset to separate them. Next I changed from the rough cube model to a more smoothed model by pressing 2 on my keyboard this was go to swap between the views later on when making the bottle . After removing the top I could select edges and extrude, here I could add bends to make it look more like the bottle. For more detail and ways to bend the model I also inserted more edges using the multicut tool which I could then extrude and transform to my liking. Pass, Merit, Distinction

Bobby has a pass because he only used basic terminology and didn't use detail in order to get a merit. He had no spelling errors in the draft or the final thing, but the final thing was just the draft as he didn't edit it at all.  Rosie got a merit because she used generally correct terminology. In her draft she wrote many words wrong such as zombie "zombi" but she fixed these in her final, making her work a merit as well as explaining the nature and purpose. Zainab got a distinction for consistently using subject terminology correctly and also fixing lots of errors in his draft. In his draft he wrote you as "u" and also added a :) face at the end which is very unprofessional. He also went into massive detail to give him this grade. Mind Map
