Art EX 4: Interior pespectives

Image
This week at art we had a task to draw a room in our house with one and two point perspectives which we had learnt in the lesson. Here is a rundown of one, two and three perspective drawings One point perspective is where everything is drawn from one center point, being called one point perspective. Two point perspective is where everything is draw from two points on the far left and far right of the page and drawn from there. Three point perspective is where there is two points like two point perspective and one in the middle near the top. But we didn't know this prior to the task. For my first drawing I used one point perspective where the visual point I'm looking at is right in the center so everything from the side looks somewhat distorted. Once I had done this I left the lines in to show how it was created and highlighted the things i could physically see using fine pen. For my second drawing I used two point perspective where the visual points are

Maya Assignment: Week 04 - "Elemental Orbs"

Image
This week we had a task to make elemental orbs using just a sphere. Each of us had to make an orb with a different element, Fire, Air, Water or Earth. Which I got fire. Firstly we add the sphere from the polygon list and then we had to texture it So I added a wood texture for my sphere and changed the colors to red for the filler, yellow for the vein and a different shade of red for the grains. Also we learnt what bump mapping is so I used a granite texture and it added more texture and bumps. As a final touch I added a glow to make it shine bright like flames. Here is my final result:

Art EX 3: Object Perspectives

Image
This weeks art assignment was to find 3 random objects around your house and draw them in different views on an A4 page, resulting in 3 pages of work. My first object was a rubber duck which was drawn in HB and I used smudging for shading. I drew this with an above view, a side view, a back view and a bottom view. My second object was a battery I found which I used a B pencil and lighter smudges for shading. I also drew this From the side, from above, from below and from the other side. My third object was coke can which I used HB and smudging as technique. I drew this from above, the side and below. Conclusion In conclusion I think it went well overall as I produces 3 different object with different proportions but I think i could of had more variation with shading as I only used smudging.

Maya Assignment: Week 03 - "Crate"

Dice  This week we had to make a dice using UV mapping that I learnt last week and we the proceeded to put it on a cube. Then we used transparency so we could see through the holes like the dice was cheese. We did this by taking the dots from the template in Photoshop and inverted the colors. Here you can see the six holes on the side of the dice are transparent along with all the others so we can partly see the four dot side as well through the six dots. Building With our newly learnt skills we made a building which has windows much like the die holes. Firstly we have to get the texture and map it onto our cube. But then we ran into a problem... The cube was stretched to be as tall and wide as an building so our texture we inserted was stretched!! So then we had to get a new UV map to fit our new shape. After this we inserted the texture to fit and of course changed to top and bottom as they wont fit with the texture I chose. Here we can see the b

Art EX 2: Still Life Arrangement

Image
Still life This week we had an assignment to draw a tone detailed drawing of 5 random objects For my 5 random objects I had a rubber, a pen, a battery, a mouse, and a figure. Here I used HB pencil and did shadows and different shades to show different variation in lighting and color. For the pen I used smudging as it was a complete different texture from the figure so I needed to show contrast between the two textures

Maya Assignment: Week 02 - " Mjolnir project"

Image
Mjolnir project For our next assignment we made Mjolnir which is a hammer owned by Thor. Creation We created it using Maya which we had been working on the basic assets of Maya and crafted the hammer using the simple tools. We had blueprints of the hammer which we inserted into Photoshop then Maya and then we modeled the hammer to be the exact size and to curve it in proportion.   We then took this into Photoshop and split it into two views where we modeled it into Maya using the proportions on the blueprints . I firstly modeled the top of the hammer using a cube that was then made using the transform key to stretch the cube into more of a hammer head. We then used the extrude tool which can bring parts to curve the cube more into a shape we want. Finally I put a cylinder shrunk as the top detail. Next I moved onto the grip which I made simply by making many different cylinders and putting them larger than a normal smaller and stretched cylinder in

Art EX 1: Found Object

Image
Cat This week we also drew a still life of a random object using tone and shading. My random object was a golden lucky cat. Our task was to draw one high detail image of the item then  to draw an additional four different  views of the cat.   Here is my first A4 image of my object and I made it using a HB pencil, this meant it was very  deta iled. Here is the four views of the cat from different angles which were each all individually shaded and were drawn quicker than the first but still were detailed to a high level I'm happy with.

Maya Assignment: Week 01 - "Simple chair"

Image
Chair This week we used Maya to make a simple chair First I selected a cube from the list of polygons We learnt how to transform which enabled us to stretch the cube in different ways to make the base. Then we learnt how to move the polygons so they were exactly in position geometrically. Then I made four more extra chairs to experiment with different objects and connections such as cones and spheres

Game over

Image
Game over As the first task for the NextGen course we were put in groups and had two weeks to complete a task called game over. The task was to create 3 shots in the setting of a future where gaming is banned and underground groups are on the rise Shot 1 was a news reporter in the studio talking about the situation, For the shot there was a main actor which was me. I was filmed in a greenscreen studio which was set up with special lighting, there was also a camera that was operated by one of my group members. The greenscreen was then edited using Adobe after effects to make me look like I was in a news studio. Shot 2 was another reporter who was reporting outside talking about the recent events. Here we used a cameraman and an actor Shot 3 was a Photoshop background which was a background taken using camera's which we then took onto Photoshop and then edited in some fire and police to create the atmosphere of our project
