Colour Theory

Image
In class this week we learnt about four different types of colour: Analogous which is colours next to each other on the colour wheel. Triadic which is colours equally distant from each other on the wheel. Complementary which is colours directly opposite each other on the colour wheel. Quadratic which is This image is a peacock that follows the analogous colour scheme as it starts from blue which is adjacent to green then green will move to yellow which is also its closest colour. I chose this image because of the blue and the green and how they blend together nicely. My next image is 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' which follows the analogous colour scheme too as it goes from blue to salmon pink. My final image is sunflowers that follow the complementary colour scheme as it starts blue and ends dark yellow which are opposite each other on the colour wheel which makes each colour stand out in a good way.

Maya Assignment: Week 06 - "Jetpack"

Image
This week in Maya our task was to make a jet pack. I made mine from the idea of steampunk with gears and clocks. First I will talk about how I made the clocks. I made the clocks using pipes with a cylinder inside. The pipes were textured with a rust texture while the cylinders with a clock face dial like actual clocks. Next I inserted black cubes which were then extruded into clock hands. Next I will talk about how I made the side tanks, firstly I inserted a cylinder where I then extruded the faces forward. Next I inserted a cone at the bottom and a cylinder below it. Then I got a sphere and cut it in half and inserted it on top. On this half of the sphere I put two flat cylinders and a torus above. Finally I added a texture to each part that I then UV mapped the holes to be smaller and fit, then I individually textured the extruded cylinder parts, the cone, the torus and the bottom cylinder. Now I will move on to the headlight I made many cylinders that were then textured us

Art EX 5: Figures in motion

Image
This week in art we learnt about movement of the human body. This week our assignment was to draw three A4 pages with quick sketches of  humans doing poses and activities really focusing on energy lines. My first page shows a lot of arm momentum, as shown by the figure throwing a ball the arm is bent with a sharp boomerang like energy line. My second image is in a park with relaxed people with not much energy but also to contrast this there is a dancer with high energy lines doing an arm stand. My third image was lots of happy people with high arms and high energy, then i used the rule of space to separate the one person from the rest. The head is facing down as a slump to show lack of energy complimenting the rest of the people.

Maya Assignment: Week 05 - "Tower"

Image
This week in Maya we had to make a tower. Firstly we photo-bashed, which is where you put many photos together to make one final product. Here I had an image of a tower where I added nails and a straw. After adding the straw on the tower I noticed that the tower looked like a water tower so I decided make it somewhat into a drink. I make the tower almost completely transparent so the tower looked more like a glass. Then I added a ocean shader for the water that was inside as well as texturing the straw. Next I made some nails by simply extruding a cube and also adding a few helix polygons to make the nail have spirals and textured it in metal. Finally I textured the base with grass and a little pond as well as a road which I added a small van delivering water. Final words: In conclusion I think that the tower went very well, as its geometry went overall very well and the textures all stuck well.
